Physical education

Intent

At Hillstone Primary School we believe that all children should be given the opportunity to learn a wide variety of skills within Physical Education and Sport.

Key Stage 2 children should also be given the opportunity to compete in a variety of intrahouse competitions throughout the academic year as well as the opportunity to compete in local and regional events participating with and against other schools.

It is also our belief that the KS1 and early years’ focus should primarily be based on learning fundamental skills, such as balance, coordination, movement and agility. They should be given opportunities to compete within Physical Education lessons or sports activities within school.

We believe in nurturing talented children and providing pathways to excellence within sport and Physical Education.
