If your child is unable to attend school for an extended period of time, please call the office on 0121 675 3573 and arrange a telephone meeting with Mr Krasnopolski (6R) or Miss Kinsman (6K) to discuss your child’s learning.

In writing, we will be creating our own spooky stories after watching the brilliant animation, Alma. We will focus on including lots of descriptive detail, linking our sentences and paragraphs together well and using dashes to add extra information. After this, we will either create more spooky stories, or use the ideas we have come up with to create other pieces of writing, such as diary entries from a character’s point of view.
In reading lessons, the children will explore a variety of scary stories and texts focused on climate change. In terms of skills, the children will learn how to distinguish between facts and opinions. Lessons will also develop a range of other important skills such as retrieval, inference and the ability to identify the effect single words can have on the mood and feel of a text.
This term in maths we are learning about: area, perimeter, volume and statistics.
Physical activity not only improves health, reduces stress and improves concentration, but also promotes correct physical growth and development. Exercise has a positive influence on academic achievement, emotional stability and interaction with others.
This term we are learning more gymnastic skills and improving our skills in hockey.
You will be expected to record reading in your child’s diary. This is a fantastic resource for the children to use, but also key for parent and teacher communication. Please read with your child, at least 3 times per week and record this in their diary with further comments.
Please continue to listen to your child read at least three times a week and record this in their diary with you signature. The children should also be going on Times Table Rock Stars to improve their multiplication knowledge and Sir Linkakot to help with their spellings.
Good attendance and punctuality is essential to help your child achieve the best they possibly can.
Every week the attendance cup is awarded to the class with the best attendance – hopefully our class can win the cup lots of times this coming term!
We will also be awarded points in the Punctuality League. Let’s see if we can beat last year’s score.
Please ensure children wear the correct school uniform, including black shoes and plain socks. Jewellery must not be worn. Please label all items so that they can be easily reacquainted with children if they are mislaid. This includes the inside of coats, shoes, hats, gloves and scarves.
Children can achieve house points for trying hard with their work!
If you would like your child to walk home alone, with a friend or meet you at a certain place, please write a note letting Mrs Bridges or Miss Kinsman know, including if this is an everyday occurrence or just on certain days.
We aim to teach the children about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. With this in mind, our fantastic chef provides a range of healthy snacks. Snack for juniors is charged at £0.25 per day.
To pay for your child’s snack, please log in to their Scopay account. Please speak to the office if you do not have your Scopay log in details.
We are committed to providing excellent food that is healthy, tasty, nutritionally balanced and is presented in an attractive way that the children will enjoy. A School Dinner is currently £2.50 per day and order online via Scopay.
