SPORTS AT HILLSTONE
The evening started with a narrow 1–0 defeat against The Rosary, a team we had beaten convincingly before Christmas. A rushed start and clear arrival nerves showed early on, alongside the absence of our regular goalkeeper. Goalkeeping duties were shared superbly by Alesha and Mia, but The Rosary managed to capitalise and take the win.
The girls responded brilliantly in the second match, settling into their rhythm and producing a confident 2–0 victory against Colebourne. Nyla was on fine form, scoring two excellent close range goals. The scoreline could have been even more convincing after Mia struck the post from a well taken direct free kick.
Game three saw Hillstone face a strong Lea Forest side with an outstanding goalkeeper who seemed to stop everything until Nyla once again found a way through, squeezing home the winning goal to secure a 1–0 win and take her tournament tally to three goals.
Confidence continued to grow in the final match against The Abbey school, where Hillstone dominated large periods of play. Alesha capped off a strong performance with a superb strike from just outside the area, while Holly came agonisingly close, hitting the post with a tight angled effort.
Across the evening, the girls played some excellent football, sticking to the key principles worked on in training before Christmas, good spacing, moving the ball quickly, and attacking with confidence and aggression. These fundamentals really paid off.
A big thank you as well to Mr Levack for attending and supporting the girls with coaching on the evening.
An excellent footballing performance and a night to be proud.

Girls Shine at Rugby Festival Following England’s World Cup Triumph!
In celebration of the England Women’s Rugby World Cup victory, a group of Hillstone girls took part in a fantastic Girls Rugby Festival held at Birmingham & Moseley Rugby Club on Monday 6th October 2025.
The morning was packed with exciting skills workshops and mini game activities, giving the girls the opportunity to develop the essential skills needed to play rugby, from passing and tackling to teamwork and communication. Each participant received some brilliant freebies, including water bottles and sucker fidgets, before spending lunch collaborating with girls from other schools to create origami roses and friendship bracelets in true team spirit.
After lunch, the girls took part in a T1 Rugby Festival tournament where they put their new skills to the test and they did Hillstone proud! The team played superbly, showing resilience, teamwork, and determination throughout, winning all three of their matches.
